HISTORY OF B.D.G.S.

The Society was founded in 1926 'to promote the interest of golf in the district'. The member clubs being, East Brighton, Brighton & Hove, The Dyke and West Hove.
Events between the 4 clubs have been held continously since 1926 with the exception of the war years, 1939-1945.

There have been 12 Presidents of The Society, currently Mr.David Abercrombie of East Brighton  Golf Club who follows Tom Grogan (Brighton and Hove G.C.).

Currently (2009) the society hold 7 events through the year, the venues for which 'rotate' amongst the 4 clubs.
