Captains' Putter 2010


CAPTAINS' PUTTER  2010
Held at West Hove Friday July 30th saw Brighton and Hove defend their title in a nail biting tied finish with Dyke G.C. Both teams were tied on 167 but Brighton & Hove's team had one more point than their rivals on the back 9 of all 5 cards.

The Professional's Cup was won by ADRIAN MILLIGAN of East Brighton with his score of 74 just beating nearest opponent Phil Bonsall by one shot.

Society President TOM GROGAN defended his Presidents' Salver title with 36 points and Society Secretary   DON WESTON  was another to defend his Secretaries Cup with 37 points.

All winners were presented with special edition Chinaware to commemorate West Hove's centenary year

Championships 2010

SOCIETY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010

Held at West Hove Golf Club in fine but windy conditions. Another very close finish to the mens' event saw Jamie Chapman (Brighton & Hove) and Jonny Ingram (West Hove) tied on  level par 140 after the afternoon round. This led to a play off with Jamie Chapman winning on the 2nd extra hole. to retain the title he won last year. Mark Brayshaw of  East Brighton was 3rd on 145.

The ladies Championship was won for the 5th time in 6 years by Stacey Rodger of the home club scoring 149 with Daisy Wakelin (East Brighton) runner up with 153.

The junior title was also defended and held by Lewis Jackson of West Hove (146) with Tiff Hewetson in second place on 153.

East Brighton's team of Danny O'Rourke, Mark Brayshaw, James Messenger and Josh Wyatt took the Team Trophy (604), West Hove 2nd (614), Dyke 3rd (625)
