Mixed Cup 2011

East Brighton hosted the last event of the year in fine but blustery conditions. In the first morning match West Hove just pipped the home club 3-2. The 2nd match between Dyke and Brighton & Hove saw Dyke going through 3.5-1.5. So the afternoon was a shoot-out between West Hove and Dyke GC not only for The Mixed Trophy but also to decide the outcome of the whole year's Victor Ludorum order of Merit Trophy. Closely fought all afternoon, Dyke were eventual victors 3.5-1.5.
The' consolation'  Plate was presented to Chris Gill of Brighton and Hove who defeated East Brighton 4-1.
Dyke skipper David Noble with winning team N Hudson, P Lewis, R Fuller, J Rogers,C Smith, P Plant, G Kane,                   A Vans Agnew, N Allen and C Bladen.

Captains Putter 2011

At East Brighton, home team were favourites and they scored well to win with contributions from D Abercrombie, K Talbot, G Halewood, P Ticehurst and club skipper Paul Crompton.
Final scores were:- East Brighton 191, West Hove 166, Brighton and Hove 162, Dyke 159.

The Secretaries Trophy also went To East Brighton with Peter Baker scoring 36 points
The Dyke GC professional Mark Stuart-William shot a new (lengthened) course record of 64 to win the Pro's Cup, and in The Presidents, Salver Tom Grogan won from a small field of 2 with 34 points. See pictures below:-

CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011

RECORDS TUMBLED at Brighton and Hove on Sunday July 3rd.
In the afternoon round Stacey Rodger of West Hove set a new ladies course record of 70. Then about an hour after that Ross Gilbert of the home club shot a fine 62 to set a new course record for men.
Mens Championship results:-3rd J Chapman (Dyke) 138, Runner Up Jonny Ingram (West Hove) 136, Winner Ross Gilbert of Brighton and Hove with scores of 68-62 (130)
Ladies Championship:- Runner Up Deborah James (Dyke) 158, Winner Stacey Rodger of West Hove 145.
The Mens' team event was won by Dyke GC:- J Chapman 138, B Harris 144, M James 145 and M Penge 146 (Total 573). Runners Up were Brighton and Hove on 579 with West Hove third on 590.
The 2011 JUNIOR Champion is Ben Roberts (Dyke GC) with rounds of 73 and 71 (144) with Adam Hatcher of West Hove Runner Up on 147.

Wentworth Smith Trophy 2011

Held at West Hove on Sunday June 12th in wet and breezy conditions.
Mark Pollington of East Brighton managed the 'DOUBLE' by winning both the nett and scratch Trophies. He shot 76 gross for 36 stableford points.
The TEAM SHIELD was won by West Hove on a total of 167 points with contributions from N. James, K Fender, I Large, T Jefferson and M Augier.
Other scores were-- Nett Runner-up Neville Hudson (Dyke GC), 3rd was Tony Jefferson (West Hove).
In the scratch event, Chris Bladen (Dyke GC) scored 77 gross with Steve Nielsen (West Hove) on 80 gross.

JUNIOR CUP 2011

DYKE RETAIN TROPHY--at West Hove in testing windy conditions. The morning matches saw West Hove beating East Brighton and Dyke beating Brighton & Hove with Society president Tom Grogan playing as last minute substitute. In the afternoon finals, Brighton & Hove won the Plate with a win over East Brighton 4.5-0.5.
In the Junior Cup final, a close match finished with Dyke GC beating the home team 3-2.

INTERMEDIATE CUP 2011

The Intermediate Cup was held at Dyke Golf Club on May 8th--the morning matches saw Dyke beat Brighton & Hove 5-0 and West Hove beating East Brighton 3.5-1.5.
The afternoon Plate event was won by Brighton & Hove.
In the main event for the Trophy, there was an extremely close finish with West Hove's team of :- N. James & T Silsby, T Ingram & B Murphy, S & P Rodger, G Chamberlain & J Rhodes, P Stempt & K Fender closing out Dyke GC 3.5-1.5.

SENIOR CUP 2011

The first event of 2011, The Senior Cup, again proved the benefit of home advantage with a strong Brighton & Hove team defeating Dyke GC on their 'home turf' by a margin of 4-1 in the final of the main event.
In the Plate final, West Hove beat East Brighton 3 matches to 2.
