VICTOR LUDORUM Order of Merit 2019

Dyke GC 'came up on the rails' on the day to win the Order of Merit for 2019.

With only the professionals to come in, scores were level between West Hove and Dyke. So it was all down to sudden death after Peter Tarver-Jones and Brad Harris had tied on 70...so down to sudden death! with Brad prevailing with a birdie on 19th hole!! Scores on the day were DGC 16, B&H 7, WHGC 5, EBGC 3..This made final scores for the year:-

DYKE GC 56,   WEST HOVE 55,    BRIGHTON & HOVE 53,    EAST BTN 14.

CAPTAINS' PUTTER meeting 2019

At East Brighton, with all to play for in the year's Order of merit, Dyke GC were winners of THE CAPTAINS' PUTTER with 175 points from B&H with 163 and East Brighton 159. Dyke's last 2 players Gary Epstein and Robin Fuller 'sealing the deal' with 39 and 41 points.

PRESIDENTS Salver was won by Don Weston 31pts from Roy Bowerman.(Both DGC)
SECRETARIES CUP ..again won by Gary Salt of West Hove with 35 points.
PROFESSIONAL'S CUP won by Brad Harris (DGC) after a sudden death play off with Peter Tarver-Jones (WHGC) ..Brad recording a birdie on the 19th hole.

MIXED CUP 2019

It was a sunny but windy day at East Brighton GC for this year's 'mixed'. 
Morning results...Dyke beat East Btn 3-2,    B&H beat West Hove 4-1.
FINAL:-
For the 'Plate'..East Brighton beat West Hove 4-1.

For the MIXED CUP... DYKE GC beat Brighton and Hove 3-2 going to last match on the course with Andy and Jane Rogers winning on the 17th to secure victory.

At Dyke GC in glorious summer weather, this year's event was supported by Tates of Portslade..many thanks to them for their support.....

BRIGHTON and HOVE GC did well with winner and runner up in the main event and also securing the Team Shield.... Gary Daw 41,  Sam Chapman 41  with D Jolley (EBGC) on 40 points.

The Scratch Trophy was won by George Goddard of West Hove with a fine 69 gross, Gary Daw (72) and West Hove's Gary Salt  (74).

Team Shield squad from B&H were..G Daw, S Chapman, M Browning, A Bunker, K Gledhill (190) from Dyke (185). Best 5 scores counting.

INTERMEDIATE CUP 2019

A sunny early summer day at Dyke Golf Club was venue for this year's event. 
Morning results:- Brighton & Hove beat Dyke 3-2,     West Hove beat East Brighton 3½-1½.

After lunch Dyke GC beat East Brighton to win 'The Plate' 4-1, and in the Trophy Final West Hove were victorious over B&H 3 matches to 2.😊

Morning results:-  Dyke beat B&H 4-1
West Hove Beat East Btn 3-2.

Afternoon matches:-

PLATE...Brighton and Hove beat East Btn to win Plate 3-2

For the Junior Cup itself...(West Hove names first)..

The first event of our year was held on a chilly course at Brighton and Hove G.C.
 Morning results:-West Hove 3.5  B&H 1.5,        Dyke 4..East Btn 1.

After a tasty lunch...Final results were:-
Plate match..Brighton and Hove beat East Brighton 4-1

TROPHY FINAL...(Dyke names first).. E Fetherbe and J Foreman beat G Salt and C Gilgenkrantz 2 up, J Spicer and T Harris haved with T Wedge and K Woolley, C Bladen and M Harrison beat R Miller and T Shaw, A Humphrey and J Brough halved with W Humphrey and T Hounsome, I Pitts and P Sayers lost to R Ellis and D Cook 3/2.
Therefore DYKE GC win Senior Cup 3-2
