CAPTAINS' PUTTER and Victor Ludorum result 2022

Played at Dyke GC on 21st October in a fierce easterly wind and with slick greens, all players faced a very stern test.

CAPTAINS PUTTER result (best 5 from 6)..Dyke 148, East Brighton 159 with a superb 38 points from Chris Bryan. So East Brighton won The Putter.

Secretaries Cup was won by Brian Drew with 31 points.

Professional Cup and prize went to Dyke's pro, Chris Croucher with a superb 3 under par score of 69  to retain trophy he won last year.

VICTOR LUDORUM (order of Merit) result .....again won comfortably by East Brighton with a total of 74 from Dyke with 47.

 This year's event was held at Brighton and Hove GC,.... shortened to 18 holes due to extreme heatwave conditions.

MEN'S CHAMPION.. Rob Francis (B&HGC)..70 gross

LADIES CHAMPION......Holly Crompton (East BrightonGC) 72 gross

JUNIOR CHAMPION...Harvey Underwood (West Hove) Nett 71

Team Champions.. EAST BRIGHTON GC  297 gross (4 players)

Ladies Team Champions...East Brighton  143 Nett 

WENTWORTH SMITH TROPHY 2022

 GOOD DAY FOR EAST BRIGHTON

Held for first time for 2 years at East Brighton GC, the host club cleaned up!

Winner of The Wentworth Smith trophy with 42 points was Rafael Cowan Boscardi,

The scratch Cup went to Peter Lenihan with a fine 73 in windy conditions.

TEAM TROPHY (best 5) went also to East Brighton with 187 points from B&H with  177.

Team comprised Rafael, Pete Lenihan, Neil Lancaster, R Webster and Andy Foster. 

 

MIXED CUP 2022

 Hosted by Brighton and Hove GC in fine condition, the semi final results were:-

East Brighton beat West Hove 4-1...and

Dyke GC beat B&H 3-2 after super putt on last by Grainne Kane to go through.

Well done to all competitors.

FINAL results.. Plate  Brighton and Hove beat West Hove 4-1..

For the Mixed Cup Trophy..DYKE GC beat East Brighton 4-1.

JUNIOR CUP 2022

West Hove provided an excellent challenge (and lunch) to our 4 teams on Sunday June 5th.

Semi-finals..B&H Beat WH   and EB beat DGC.

So in the afternoon the Plate match saw a victory for Dyke GC beating West Hove 4-1

For the main Trophy East Brighton played well to defeat Brighton and Hove by 3.5-1.5

The happy East Brighton team with their Captain and President G Halewood.

 M Greer, H Stewart and J Lee-Falcon.

 HOME ADVANTAGE PREVAILS AGAIN

In superb Spring weather Dyke GC hosted this year's event. Morning semi-finals resulted in Dyke beating East Brighton by 2 matches, and West Hove coming through against B&H by the same margin.

After lunch, The Plate went to East Brighton with a 3-2 win over B&H.

For the Trophy match, most matches were close but eventually the home club DYKE GC won 5-0, over West Hove GC. 

DGC team..C Finn, C Millar, M Stalker, R Fuller, P Phillips,A Grace,

C Franklin, L Taylor...sitting..M Davies and C Betts (both tired!).

 HOME CLUB WIN 1st EVENT OF 2022

Our opening event at East Brighton GC on Sunday April 10th was played in spring sunshine, but with a chilly wind.  In the semi-final morning matches, Dyke beat Brighton & Hove, and East Brighton were victors over West Hove GC.

So, after lunch, The Plate match went to West Hove defeating B&H 4-1.

TROPHY MATCH  with home advantage, East Brighton beat Dyke GC 4½-½.

East Brighton team players:-J Sutton, M Buss, J Hayes, D Ballard, J Pontin,

P Lenihan, N Millyard, L Evenden, D Derkson and J Fowler.
