CHAMPIONSHIPS 2015

DAN MILLIGAN of host club West Hove is the new BDGS Mens' Champion of Champions with scores of  75-70 (145), 2 shots ahead of club mate George Goddard on 147 with Damon Raikes of East Brighton in 3rd place (148).
FENELLA BUSS of East Brighton  is our new Ladies Champion.--In an exciting finish, after 36 holes Fenella was equal with Sophie Kennard (Dyke G.C.) on 150--so a sudden death play off took place with Fenella winning on the first extra hole.
Junior Champion is JACK SUTTON (East Brighton) with scores of 71-75 (146) with Ryan Miller of West Hove in 2nd place on 159.
The mens TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP  was a close thing at lunch with East Brighton 1 shot ahead of West Hove, however the challenge  fell away in the afternoon with WEST HOVE'S squad of Gary Salt, Dan Milligan, George Goddard and Russ Newland recording a winning total score of 601, Brighton & Hove nipped into 2nd place on 624, East Brighton 628, Dyke 636.

Wentworth Smith Trophy 2015

CLEAN SWEEP FOR HOME CLUB

Dyke G.C. supplied a course in fine condition for this year's event. Excellent golfing weather did not provide as many good scores as might have been expected. However Dyke took all the honours with Mark COLBURN winning the Trophy on 40 pts (after starting with 3 'blobs'),  Lewis Turner was runner-up with 38 just beating Robin Fuller on count back into third.





TEAM TROPHY scores (best 5 from each club) Dyke 182, Brighton and Hove 174, West Hove 165 and East Brighton 161. The SCRATCH EVENT was won by last year's nett winner Neville Hudson (above,) with 74 gross, 2nd was Mike Dunkerton (East Brighton) 76, 3rd Malcolm Stalker (Dyke) 77.

JUNIOR CUP 2015

CUP 'HAT TRICK' FOR DYKE GC

West Hove provided not only a course in first class condition, but also sunny weather all day.
Morning semi-finals saw a win for Dyke over East Brighton, and in the other match a close battle between West Hove and Brighton & Hove was decided on countback with Brighton and Hove scraping through.

The Plate final was won by East Brighton defeating the home club 3.5-1.5.
For the Junior Cup itself, Dyke GC were going for 3 wins in a row under team skipper Dave Barber. He led his team yet again to success over Brighton and Hove 4-1.

SENIOR CUP 2015

EARLY SUCCESS FOR WEST HOVE

Brighton and Hove hosted our first event of the year and presented a course in fine condition. The semi-finals gave the home club a win over East Brighton, and West Hove beat The Dyke.
After lunch, the Plate match was won by The Dyke 3.5-1.5 -----and in the final a strong West Hove team got the better of an equally strong Brighton and Hove team 3 -2.

MIXED CUP 2014

West Hove retained their 'mixed' title away from home again at Brighton and Hove. However their victory was only secured after a countback of holes up 6-4 over the home team.
The Plate was even closer with Dyke pair Sophie Kennard and Nev Hudson going to 'sudden death' play off with father and daughter Mark and Fenella Buss from East Brighton. Dyke pair won with a great birdie on first hole.
Winning West Hove team was Dave Goldsmith & Julie Macadam, Grace Shepherd & Jeff Rhodes, Megan Bibby & Tony Humphrey, Jan Seabrook & Peter Rodger, Jill Corbett and Tim Ingram. Pictured below:-
